General technical sales conditions

Hammer Carpets' general technical sales conditions are a supplement to the general sales conditions. These general technical conditions are more describing about tolerances, patterns, colours, etc.

Tolerances

Specifications

  • As regards test methods and results, all our specifications are in accordance with European standard for textile floor coverings;

    CEN/TS 14159:2014:

    Fromt CEN/TS 14159:2014 it apperas a.o.t:
Total weight: Acceptable tolerance +/- 15%
Pile weight: Acceptable tolerance +/- 15%/-10%
Pile height: Acceptable tolerance +/- 15%/-10%

Measures

  • Length:
All stock items with a standard length measure are delivered with a tolerance of +/-0,5%. Rolls in special lengths are delivered with a tolerance on +2%/-0%. All lengths in stock exceeding 18 lm are regarded and invoiced as rolls.
  • Width:
All stock items with a standard width (366 cm, 400 cm and 500 cm) are delivered with a tolerance of +/- 3 cm.
  • Cut:
All lengths less than 18 lm. These are delivered with a tolerance of +1%/-0%.

Patterns

  • Repeat:
A pattern repeat indicates the measurements of the dominating pattern in both width and length direction.
  • Displacement
The tolerance for joining pattern repeats in the length direction is +/- 0,5%.
  • Curves:
Pattern curves may appear where the pattern is at the same height in both sides of the roll, but curves across the width of the carpet. The tolerance for this is +/-1%.
  • Torsion:
The tolerance for pattern torsion is +/- 1%. (i.e. the pattern repeat is not the same height on both sides).
  • Swings:
If the distance from the pattern to the edge of the carpet swings in the longitudinal direction, the tolerance is +/- 1%.

Colours

  • Colour deviation:
Colour deviations are inevitable when changing from one production to another. Therefore slight changes can be seen between a pegboard/sample and the production delivered. When installation more rolls in the same room it is important to order rolls from same dye batch/production lot. The installer is responsible to examine this as it is responsibility to control the rolls before cutting and fitting
  • Shading:
The concept covers water-like spots in the carpet which is due to an area determined change in the original pile direction. This phenomenon is likely to be seen in velour qualities. Depending on light sources and light influences, dark areas that deviate from the general expression may appear. This is not a production fault and is as such not acceptable as a valid claim.

  • Pile reversal:
This is seen in a clearly defined area where a change in the pile direction compared to the original pile direction appears. The optical effect by this change is more visible than by shading, as mentioned above. The reason for this phenomenon is not known and not considered as a production fault and is as such not acceptable as a valid claim.

Quantities

  • Roll lengths:
Ordering rolls at roll price, we offer roll lengths which are available in stock. If other roll lengths are required these can be supplied within the normal tolerances (see above) by the next production of the quality requested. If the rolls in stock need to be cut down, they will be invoiced at cut price.
  • Special orders:
Producing special orders (= non-stock items), a maximum of 3% surplus production must be counted in. These 3% will be invoiced and sent with the rest of the order. If the surplus production exceeds 3% this quantity can be dispatched with the order free of charge.
