Maintenance Guide

After a certain amount of time, the carpet needs more a more proper and consisting cleaning than vacuum cleaning.

Periodically scheduled extraction cleaning will remove accumulated soil not removed by vacuuming and spot removal. It is recommended, that transition areas, and track-off regions and congested channels need cleaning every month or when needed.

Hammer Tępper highly recommends an extraction cleaning using e.g. The Chem Dry Method. A heavy ph-neutral and carbon dioxiding solution containing water is applied on the carpet. The solution is 60-75 degrees and dissolves the dirt which is subsequently absorbed and dried with a cotton disc.

Advantages

  • Extremely efficient cleaning
  • Use of small quantities of water
  • No soaking of the backing material
  • No use of chemicals
  • The dirt is removed from the the carpet pile
  • Short drying time (typical 1-2 hours)
  • Minor risk of mistreatment
  • Method and agent secure a minimum load on indoor climate
  • The carpet is kept clean longer as there are no residues of dirt attracting soap or chemicals.
Dry Cleaning may be used where specified and if no time can be allowed for the carpet to dry before it needs to be walked on again.

When cleaing it is recommended that liquid is being absorbed with a clean white towel repeating until the spill is fully absorbed.

Among several stain removal agents Chem-Dry is recommended for a more consistent cleaning.
